Orange nabs Nokia marketing head

The future is bright for one Justin Billingsley.

The Nokia global marketing boss has been poached by Orange to work as its UK brand managing director.

The telecommunications giant made the decision after searching for a candidate for more than six months.

Mr Billingsley will take charge of advertising and marketing activities at the company in September.

He will report to Jean-Pascal Van Overbeke, VP of marketing for Orange UK.

Replacing Pippa Dunn, who became pay-as-you-go director of Orange earlier this year, Mr Billingsley will be responsible for leading the 40-strong Orange UK advertising and marketing teams as well as guiding the strategy and direction of the brand.

Before working at Nokia, Mr Billingsley took marketing roles at Coca-Cola and was stationed in the US, Australia, Indonesia and the UK.

Earlier this year Orange launched a £13 million advertising campaign to promote its pay-monthly and pay-as-you-go products, as well as its "Gigsandtours from Orange" service, which allows users to reserve tickets for selected concerts up to 48 hours before they go on public sale.
