Using online channels to reach customers is a crucial way of ensuring that your customer offer reaches the 30 million UK users currently signed up to broadband, a study from Research and Markets has found.

Globally, the number of internet users is projected to reach 1.35 billion in 2007 – and the UK is the fifth most broadband-penetrated country in the world.

Internet marketing facilitates rapid communications with instant customer outreach, while the service can be personalised with web content management products which tailor the content a customer views to their own predilections and needs.

At present, 54 per cent of enterprises in the UK use a web content management system while another 39 per cent are thinking of investing in one within the next two years, according to the report.

Nevertheless, businesses must identify precisely what it is about a given communications strategy – for example, using web-to-mobile communications or blogging – that is right for them, rather than adopting a given tactic on the basis of a trend to do so among competitors, the report emphasises.ADNFCR-8000151-ID-18083774-ADNFCR
