ARE YOU REGISTERED WITH THE DATA & MARKETING ASSOCIATION (DMA) IN THE UK?
The DMA is Europe’s largest marketing association dedicated to the protection and development of the UK direct marketing industry, with members required to adhere to the DMA’s Direct Marketing Code of Practice.
Making sure your provider is registered assures both you and your customers they follow industry best-practice. We are proud members and have been for many many years.

WHAT IS THE VIP RESELLERS PROGRAMME?
By joining our VIP Resellers Programme not only will you benefit from discounts, but you will also receive a selection of rewards. You will also qualify to earn commission if you refer a new customer to us who goes on to make a purchase.
Our reseller programme has been created to help support and reward our most loyal customers. Just ask us for more information.
DO I GET A DEDICATED ACCOUNT MANAGER?
Yes. As a Marketscan Reseller you will have your own account manager who you can rely on to be on hand for all enquiries/assistance that you need. Should your account manager be away a second contact will step in to help you.
HOW IS THE DATA SOURCED?
We take the strengths from each of our suppliers; Thomson Directories, 118 Information, Dun & Bradstreet, Corpdata and Companies House. We then build one detailed record for each UK business (eg. industry classification from Thomson Directories or email addresses from Corpdata). Only the most up-to-date information is used and a further 40-point quality improvement check is carried out on each record.
HOW OFTEN IS THE DATA UPDATED?
B2B data can decay by up to 40% a year, leading to a decline in response rates. Getting proof that your provider performs regular data cleansing is essential and ensures your clients have up-to-date contact information.
From our 5 suppliers we receive an average of 800,000 updates per month. Our suppliers completely refresh the data on roughly a 12-month cycle.
HOW MUCH IS YOUR DATA?
We offer some of the best reseller rates in the industry with fantastic economies of scale. Let’s book in a call to see what you could earn by becoming a Marketscan reseller.
CAN EMAIL ADDRESS DATA BE LINKED TO A QUALIFIED TRADING POSTAL ADDRESS?
All Marketscan records are verified actively trading business addresses. Linking email addresses to a qualified trading postal address provides extra assurance the data is qualified and offers the opportunity of conducting a multi-channel campaign through direct mail.
WHAT DELIVERABILITY WARRANTIES DO YOU OFFER?
Records can be supplied in all standard formats and come with our industry leading warranties:
- 98% Deliverability warranty on all Direct Mail data
- 90% Deliverability warranty on all Email data
WHAT DO I NEED TO STAY COMPLIANT
IS THE DATA GDPR COMPLIANT?
Yes, it is. The GDPR applies to organisations processing and holding personal data within the EU. It also applies to organisations outside the EU that offer goods or services to individuals in the EU. You can read more about GDPR and data compliance here.
We are also a founder member of the Data & Marketing Association who champion compliance and best practice within the marketing industry. We regularly attend the DMA Marketing & Legal hub so we know the changes within data & law. We are also in regular contact with the ICO to ensure that we are compliant.
ARE TELEPHONE NUMBERS SUPPRESSED AGAINST THE TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE (TPS) AND CORPORATE TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE (CTPS)?
All Telephone Numbers checked against TPS and CTPS every 24 hours and then removed.
If your client contacts a business or individual by telephone that’s on the TPS or CTPS register, they could end up with a penalty of up £500,000 for telephone marketing breaches.
WHERE/WHO CAN I SELL DATA TO?
You can sell data to businesses within the UK or the EU under GDPR.
WHAT PLATFORM SHOULD MY CLIENTS BE USING TO SEND EMAIL CAMPAIGNS?
There are a number of ESP’s (email service providers) who, as part of their T&C’s, refuse to allow you to send to a purchased list. These ESP’s include some of the most well known, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor and Pardot just to name a few. We are fully aware that there are numerous organisations who misuse data, be it purchased, or from other sources. We know, from experience, that when data is used correctly and in line with best practice, it is an invaluable tool for reaching a wide audience and entering new markets at a relatively low cost.
These ESP’s that we have mentioned have a total ban on purchased data as they try to “protect” their clients (best practice needs to be followed to protect the ESP’s, it does not matter if it is opt in or purchased data that is being used). A large percentage of mass email senders use their own domain and email accreditation to try and ensure deliverability but also protect the sending domain of the ESP itself. There is an obvious reason why they would want to work in this way especially as, in a lot of cases, their services are free.
You might be interested to know that we have our own email sending platform that you are welcome to send email campaigns from on your client’s behalf that does allow the upload of bought data. You can find out more about Marketscan Edge here.
