Data list quality ‘is paramount’
Businesses have been advised that maintaining the quality of their data lists should be a top priority at all times.
Lance Mercereau, director of marketing and public relations at Rosslyn Analytics, said inaccurate information can be extremely costly to a business, as company leaders will be making decisions based on false information.
Indeed, a failure to maintain accurate data is one issue that can lead to serious financial difficulties for firms.
He commented: "The core comes down to knowing exactly who's buying what within your organisation, at what price and also where."
Furthermore, Mr Mercereau added that cost savings when using inaccurate data lists can be extremely difficult.
According to independent technology analyst Ovum, poor quality data is now costing US businesses an estimated $700 billion (£441 billion) a year due to the inefficiency it causes and through lost customers, sales and revenue.
