Many marketing affiliates are overlooking crucial strategies that could boost their success rates, a new study suggests.
According to AffiliateBenchmarks’ second annual survey, more than a third (38.5 per cent) of marketers do not read any blogs for up-to-date industry information and tips that could help improve their marketing techniques.
Almost half of respondents do not collect data on their audiences, with 14 per cent admitting that they do not even know where this information comes from.
Peter Figueredo, chief executive of NETexponent, said the report highlights the need for seasoned marketers to take action in order to improve results.
“The affiliate industry is evolving rapidly and it is essential for new affiliates joining the game to quickly come up to speed on the latest trends and strategies if they want to compete in this lively marketplace,” he explained.
Writing in Marketing Profs, Donna Bletzinger, president of marketing consulting firm Dyer Stephenson has previously urged marketers to conduct in-depth assessments of their competition so they can stay ahead of the game.
