Firms looking to conduct business-to-business (B2B) marketing in the UK have given a series of top tips to ensure success, after experts claimed that not enough is being done.

Britons are spending £1 billion online each year, yet MarketingSherpa claims that B2B marketers are still not taking as large a slice of this as they should.

“The UK is leading the world in the amount of money spent online versus other media – with over a billion pounds spent on online advertising during the first six months of 2006,” Guy Phillipson, CEO of the IAB.

“B2B, however, has been late to the party.”

Vic Godding, chairman of the Direct Marketing Association’s B2B committee adding a warning for those who just go willy-nilly into such a campaign though: “The UK market will make your life miserable if approached in the wrong way.”

However, those brave enough to risk it were encouraged to use new media, such as viral marketing, meaning that those with the creativity can take advantage of a market that has yet to be fully exploited.ADNFCR-8000151-ID-18049733-ADNFCR
