The BBC could be the next marketing opportunity up for grabs as a new report finds that the corporation could be looking for ways to increase its revenues.

Accenture, which was commissioned by the BBC to look at the advantages of online advertising, claims that the corporation could make £100 million advertising on its website as online marketing swells in popularity.

According to the Guardian report, advertising on its international pages would bring in advertising revenue from overseas viewers, particularly if the BBC engages in an aggressive marketing stance.

The findings come as digital trend tracker comScore Networks indicates that BBC Learning experienced a 97 per cent monthly rise in European visitors in September.

If the BBC capitalises on its overseas popularity in the way that it already allows on its international television channels, it should let marketers engage closer with the world’s biggest news service.

Although the advertisements would not be seen in the UK, the BBC’s website is one of the 30 most popular websites in the world, according to Alexa.com, so would thus would present a massive global marketing opportunity.ADNFCR-8000151-ID-17899017-ADNFCR
