Most companies believe that implementing the right disaster recovery strategy is the number one corporate challenge when it comes to data storage, a new survey has found.

According to research by Storage Expo, four fifths of companies said that they view data recovery as a top priority, while 82 per cent of firms cited ensuring data security as their foremost concern.

Some 81 per cent of firms said managing increasing volumes of data is most important to them, while 79 per cent stated centralising data access as an important concern.

In addition, 77 per cent of respondents said that they are primarily concerned with how to store data in a cost-effective manner.

In contrast, 68 per cent of organisations said they are not worried about ensuring compliance with the latest data storage legislation and knowing what regulations have to be complied with.

According to Director of Finance Online, expenditure on digital storage media in the UK has grown “steadily” in the past few years.
