One would think that given this fact, marketers would take all the necessary precautions to safeguard their B2B data and prevent sensitive information from being compromised, yet time and time again, I see many firms neglect this pivotal issue.
A recent report released by data security firm Imperva highlights the risks posed to firms’ B2B databases only too well.
The survey found that the total number of security and data-related breaches is on the rise, with almost two-thirds (62 per cent) of data theft cases inspired by malicious intent.
From these figures alone, it doesn’t take much to realise the importance of maintaining watertight security for all your B2B mailing lists and email lists.
“What organisations should obviously do is add more controls into the infrastructure that are about protecting the data rather than just the infrastructure,” recommends Amichai Shulman, chief technology officer at Imperva.
He also urges the importance of having a good network firewall that protects infrastructure and keeps out cyber attacks.
