Marketers have been urged to seed their campaigns with as many people as possible in order to gain maximum exposure for their content.

According to industry expert Dan Zarrella, author of The Social Media Marketing Book, if marketers simply introduce an idea to more people, their content will reach a larger number of sales leads and recipients.

Speaking at an industry presentation, Mr Zarrella also urged marketers to increase their customer base and mailing lists by expanding the amount of followers they have on social media utilities such as Twitter and Facebook.

He also advised marketers to launch their campaign initiatives during times of the day when there is less traffic.

“Click-through rates rise later in the day and on the weekends, even though traffic is lower on Twitter and Facebook during those times,” Mr Zarrella commented.

“That’s because there are fewer links competing for people’s attention – post your content during these times.”
