Jonathan Clark, formerly chairman of online and direct marketing agency Clark McKay & Walpole, has assumed the vice chairmanship of the Institute of Direct Marketing (IMD) with immediate effect.
The IDM hopes to grow its brand with Jonathan at the helm working closely alongside chairman Simon Hall, helping IDM to “raise our profile” with his insider expertise, managing director Derek Holder said.
All profits made by the institute go to its education programmes in schools and universities, Mr Holder emphasised, but its status as a charity has as yet received relatively little public attention.
“The role and leadership that the IDM provides is one that is sometimes not as fully recognised as it should,” Mr Clark agreed on accepting the post.
The incoming vice chairman voiced his excitement at joining a team distinguished by its “energy and enthusiasm” and added that he was conscious of the impressive achievements of his forebears as he took on the new role.
“The IDM bloodline at this level is one that reads like a Who’s Who of Direct Marketing,” Mr Clark marvelled.
The Institute works to develop direct, data and digital marketing to individuals and companies worldwide.
