Steve Ballmer, Microsoft chief executive, has announced that the company intends to implement a $500 million worldwide marketing campaign.
The move is meant to complement the forthcoming release of a number of new software products, which are said to be “people-ready”.
Mr Ballmer said: “Getting the most out of their people is on the mind of every business leader I speak with.
“Successful businesses understand that people drive business success and growth.”
He also highlighted a number of the range of upcoming Microsoft products including Windows Vista and the Office 2007 software suite.
Recent company activity has had a positive effect on Microsoft shares, which are up by five per cent in 2006 and almost four per cent in the past 30 days.
