A senior internet marketing figure has declared that the rapid consumer take up of internet-enabled mobile phones has created a wealth of new opportunities for advertisers.
Michael Bayle, a senior director at Yahoo! Search Marketing, said that with more people accessing the internet on the move, firms can reach customers at key points.
“The rapid growth in internet usage from mobile devices has opened up many new opportunities for businesses to reach customers at their point of interest,” said Mr Bayle.
His comments come as his firm signs a deal with mobile phone platform operator Bango, which supplies direct-to-customer portals for firms such as O2, Vodafone and Orange.
Ray Anderson, CEO of Bango, said that the simplicity of access to the internet will create more growth for businesses that engage through the web.
“Bringing together the power and simplicity of the internet with the reach and revenue potential of mobile is driving the web business model into its next phase of growth,” added Mr Anderson.
