There will be a complete revamp of Yahoo’s online advertising system, according to media reports.
The announcement of Yahoo’s new digital marketing drive follows a similar statement from Microsoft last week.
Yahoo has claimed the shift comes after developments in its technology which will allow it to handle the new generation of interactive internet advertisements.
Google currently holds 42 per cent of the search engine market while Yahoo trails it with 27 per cent.
Yahoo’s new system will start today but receive its full launch in autumn. It will allow advertisers to target potential clients with greater accuracy and also instantly calculate how much is spent on locating new customers.
“Understanding how ads actually work together is why we are introducing the new system,” Yahoo said in a statement.
