New figures show that the top online companies sent their subscribers an average of 2.8 promotional emails per week in the week ending April 30th 2010.
According to Chad White, research director of Responsys and author of the Retail Email Blog, this figure is up two per cent from the average of 2.7 promotional emails sent during the week ending March 26th 2010.
Compared to the promotional email trends in March 2010, email volume grew at a slightly higher pace in April.
During the week ending on April 30th 2009, the higher percentage of retailers (46 per cent) sent a promotional email on Friday April 30th, while the lowest percentage of retailers (19 per cent) sent a promotional email on Saturday April 24th.
Eric Norman, marketing strategist at Sametz Blackstone Associates, recently stressed the importance of providing email leads with relevant content.
Writing in Marketing Profs, he said that fully understanding clients and prospects enables marketers to provide engaging messages that strikes a chord with recipients.
