Those incorporating email marketing strategies as part of their direct marketing campaigns will be happy to know that Brits will be spending more time online buying goods.

The projection has been made after the results of a New Media Age marketing poll which found that 36 per cent of Brits could do more shopping online this year were revealed.

With an increased number people on the net to buy goods, decision makers could be more exposed to online direct marketing techniques employed by business-to-business campaigns.

The news is likely to be welcomed by small businesses, who are expected to use more email marketing over the next 12 months.

This was agreed by e-commerce solutions provider Campaigner’s head of marketing Luc Vezina who predicted a rise in the number of emerging companies using the direct marketing technique.

“More and more small businesses rely on email marketing as one of the cornerstones of their growth strategy,” he said.
