The Royal Mail’s new Home Movers Mailing Service (HMMS) is to enable direct mail marketers to make contact with consumers via direct mail campaigns while they are in the process of moving home.

The contract for the service was won by data management firm DQM Group.

The service is expected to boost opportunities for direct mail marketers to reach their target audience, because those moving home are likely to be on the lookout for new utilities providers as well as for other commodities and accessories for their new home.

“DQM Group already works with most leading owners and therefore will be well-placed to persuade suitable data owners to contribute their relevant data, to expand and enhance Royal Mail’s growing range of mover services,” HMMS’ senior product manager, Helen Poole, told PrintWeek.

The Royal Mail service sends the direct mail on to moving customers in a branded Royal Mail envelope which can enhance the likelihood of a response.

It also gives marketers access to a data file of eligible prospects with 50,000 names and addresses every month, as well as confirmed moving dates.

Over 750,000 people each year use Royal Mail’s Redirection services.ADNFCR-8000151-ID-18083776-ADNFCR
