Thursday has been revealed to be the most popular day for emails to be sent out to firms by direct marketers.

The evidence comes from research published by the Retail Email Blog, which found that last week, the most email marketing correspondences were sent out by growing businesses on a Thursday.

It was also found that the number of email marketing messages containing the word Christmas has risen sharply.

As the festive season approaches marketers are tailoring their mailing campaigns more around the holiday theme.

The Retail Email Index measures the number of emails sent out by top firms and found that there has been a marked increase in email marketing recently.

According to the Retail Email Blog: “That’s the Index’s biggest four-week increase of the year. The Index score indicates that the top 100 online retailers sent nearly 2.5 promotional emails each on average last week.”
