Vodafone UK has signed a deal with Metia to develop their word of mouth (WOM) marketing strategy.

In agreement, the two companies will develop a system that enables Vodafone to identify customer advocates and use them to promote positive customer experience to prospective new clients.

Metia Software is a specialist marketing application provider which will provide software to help Vodafone UK recognise customer advocates and recruit them as part of their marketing strategy.

Steve Ellis, CEO at Metia, said of today’s announcement that WOM was still an important marketing method.

“Customer advocates remain every organisation’s most powerful and credible marketing tool,” he said on the company’s website.

“This programme demonstrates Vodafone UK’s leadership in building upon the positive customer experience it delivers, and then utilising this through word of mouth marketing and direct customer to customer referencing within the sales process.

“As businesses better understand the power of word of mouth endorsement, especially within B2B marketing, they are looking to become more systematic in the way they recruit and manage customer advocates,” added Ellis.
